Roy was a lifelong native of Midway and Reedy Creek, NC, and was the son of the late Sidney and Lou Perryman. Roy proudly served his country during WWII, where he was a soldier in the 114th Infantry. After returning home from war, he was employed by Salem/Carolina Steel, retiring after 43 years of service. Roy took great pleasure in raising a bountiful garden, lending a helping hand to his neighbors and the making of chicken pies at his church. He was a lifelong member of Midway United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Clodfelter Perryman; brothers Lester and Fletcher Perryman; sisters Page Berrier, Pearline Essick, Mini Delapp, Gerall Black, Libby Perryman, and Ruby Ball.
