HENRY M. CARLSEN, DES MOINES
Funeral services for Henry M. Carlsen, 67, were held at the Dunn Funeral home in Des Moines Wednesday. He died of a heart attack in the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines February 6.
Mr. Carlsen was born January 1892 in Clinton, the son of Julius and Geude Carlsen. He married Lena Kasper who died in 1923 and later married Helen Hartman. He lived in Monticello from 1917 until 1925 when he returned to Des Moines. Working for the Monticello State Bank, Mr. Carlsen also had an insurance business here. He was also the secretary of the Jones county fair board.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Kathleen) Straub of Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Julius (Helga) Carlsen and Mrs. Marving Matthiesen, both of Clinton; one brother, John Carlsen of Clinton and two grandchildren.
