He was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church at an early age. Later, he became a member of the Church of Christ in Denver, CO.
Willis entered the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. In 1956, he was united in holy matrimony with Linda Deloris Powers. To this union, no children were born.
Willis passed away quietly October 24, 1989. His father, Lee A. Wilburn and a sister, Willie C. Foreman, preceeded him in death.
Willis is survived by his wife, Linda Deloris Wilburn; a loving mother, Ione Wilburn; three sisters, Cora Ann Davis, Theonia Jackson and Joyce Alexander; three brothers, Huey P. Wilburn, Nathaniel Wilburn and Gregory Wilburn; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wilburn, uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Paden, uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Henry, host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
