BEECH COMMUNITY – Myrtle Bradley Maney, age 89, formerly of Weaverville, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
Mrs. Maney was born December 29, 1920, in Buncombe County. She was passionate about her yard and garden. She loved painting and collecting rocks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Zephra Hyatt Bradley; husband, Buron Vinson Maney who died on July 9, 1973; son, Arthur "Lee" Maney; daughter-in-law, Cherie Craine Maney; brothers, Lane, Ewell and Frank Bradley; and sister, Nell Bradley Kuykendall.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Maney Allison of Asheville, Linda Maney Shope and husband Mike of Arden, Vikki Maney Banks and husband Ray of Weaverville; sons, Phil Maney of Conway, SC, Dan Maney and wife Diana of Weaverville, Tony Maney of Weaverville; sister, Iris Bradley Aiken of Asheville; brother, John T. Bradley of Asheville; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Pastor Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Maney Branch Cemetery, Weaverville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
