Funeral service for Nellie "Ruth" Pipkins, 70, of Palm Coast, who passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at the home of her daughter, will be held Thursday (today) at 12:00 noon at Calvary Christian Center 1687 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach with Rev. Jeremy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery..
Mrs. Pipkins was born in Bulloch Co., GA and moved to this area in 1959 from Savannah, Ga.
She was the former owner/operator of a nursing assistant business and a former member of the Eagles, Holly Hill. A member of Calvary Christian Center, Ruth enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Cerreta, Palm Coast; a son, Marion Eugene Pipkins, South Daytona; a brother, "Rabbit" Eugene Motes, Savannah, GA; 4 sisters, Beatrice Faircloth and Grace Faircloth both of Savannah, GA, Sara Wilson, Ellabelle, GA and Gloria Barnes, Oxford, GA; 8 Grandchildren, Richard, Jacques, Doug, Steve Jr., Vanessa, Peter, Benjamin and Anna; 6 Great Grandchildren, Gabe, Julian, Samantha, Savannah, Lucas, and Logan.
Ruth was predeceased by a son, Louis, a brother, J.C. Motes and a sister, Marie Gliston.
