Richard L. Schafer, 38, of San Diego, Cal., died Saturday, October 26, 1963, following an automobile accident. Details of the accident were not learned except that he was traveling with another man who was killed outright. Date of the accident was not given The Signal, but it is understood Schafer lived several days following the accident.
The deceased, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schafer of Shickley, was a former Shickley and Geneva business man.
survivors include his wife, Lucille of Geneva; a daughter, Linda of Geneva; his parents and two brothers, Gildard of Shickley and Leon of Hastings.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 10:30 at St. Joseph's Church in Geneva with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Geneva. The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct joint services at the grave.
