Ernest A. Reinsch, one of 13 children of Joseph Reinsch and Emma Kamler Reinsch, was born on a farm near Shickley on July 28, 1899.

Ernest graduated from Geneva high school and attended the University of Nebraska. He worked at a bank in Lincoln until he enlisted in the Army.

After being discharged from the service, he returned to the Shickley area where he was engaged in farming. He retired in 1963.

He was married to Florence Jacque in St. Mary's Catholic Church on October 3, 1922. To this union, five children were born, all five later graduating from Geneva high school.

In the fall of 1948, they moved to Geneva where they lived until his death. In October, 1977, they celebrated 55 years of married life.

Ernest was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and the American Legion. He was also active in many community affairs.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Evelyn) Dorman of Geneva, Mrs. Bob (Camilla) Rosener of Fairbury; three sons, William E. of Lincoln, Francis J. (Tanny) of Shickley and Ronald of Pueblo, Col; one sister, Mrs. Emma Volkmer of Geneva; four brothers, John William, and Henry all of Geneva, and Herman of Denver; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Ernest passed away July 22, 1978, at this home at the age of 78 years and 11 months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, July 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Walter Banach officiating. Military honors were bestowed by member of Sloan-Bolton American Legion post.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Doug Rosener, Ron Rosener, Greg Rosener, William D. Reinsch, Steve D. Reinsch, Pat F. Reinsch; Terry Placzek and Reg Sissel. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Geneva.
