Grand Mound - Andrew V. Lund, 64, died September 8 at 6:15 p.m. at his home two miles west of Grand Mound after an extended illness.
Andrew Lund was born July 13, 1899 in Clinton, son of Jens and Mariane (Vad) Lund and lived on a farm near DeWitt until 1921. He was married to Isabelle Schmidt in 1921, who preceded him in death; in 1926 he married Grace Roseland and in 1931, the couple moved to a farm near Grand Mound.
He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran church, serving as a trustee and treasurer.
He is survived by his wife, a niece, Mrs. Paul Leinbaugh, Wheatland, who made her home with the family for many years; three sisters, twin sister Mrs. Ernest Goers, Mrs. Anne Hart of Clinton and Mrs. Lester Roup of Low Moor; two brothers, Sophus Lund of Ringstead and Arnold V. Lund of Dixon, Ill.
Preceding him in death besides his first wife were his parents and two daughters, Clover and Joan.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran church near Calamus with Rev. Einar Jorgenson officiating. Burial was in Our Savior's cemetery.
