Agnes F. S. K. Holznagel, 58, of Sanborn, passed away Sunday, March 12, 1950, at her home in Sanborn.

She had been infected with a growth for the past few years, which has no cure and during the last months the ailment became especially grievous.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, from the Nath home in Sanborn, with Rev. W. P. Scheitel officiating, followed by services at the Smith Funeral Home in Luverne. Pallbearers were Carl, William and Orien Nath, Melvin Schave, Clinton Yackel and Melford Hoffman. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne, Minnesota.

Friedericka Sophie Katharina Agnes Harmsen was born July 14, 1891, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Ferdinand and Amalie (Grage) Harmsen. She used the name Agnes during her lifetime. She received her education in the Chicago schools. The family moved to a farm in Cedar County, Iowa, near Durant in 1900, where she attended the area schools. She married Jurgen Matthaus Nath on February 12, 1916, in Davenport. The couple later moved to a farm near Luverne, Minnesota. They were the parents of Alvin, Mildred and Margaret. Matthaus preceded her in death on April 4, 1924. She then moved her family back to Durant, where they make their home. Her daughter Mildred passed away on February 21, 1925. She returned to Minnesota and married John George Holznagel on January 29, 1929, in Redwood Falls. The couple made their home in Sanborn. She was a member of the local Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband, John; one son, Alvin Nath of Sanborn; one daughter, Margaret Nath of Minneapolis; one grandchild; one sister, Helen (Emil) Kahler of Tipton, IA; four brothers, Charles (Clara) Harmsen of Tipton, IA, and Harry Harmsen, Herbert (Florence) Harmsen and Edwin (Mildred) Harmsen, all of Durant, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and one daughter, Mildred Nath.
