Harold was the husband of Susan (Houser) Hillegass.

HAROLD F. HILLEGASS
Harold F. "Bup" Hillegass, 69, of Macungie, formerly of Vera Cruz, died Friday, December 7, 2007 in his home. He was the husband of Susan G. (Houser) Hillegass. The couple celebrated 49 years of marriage last May 3. Born in Zionsville, he was the son of the late Hiram M. and Louisa M. (Dreas) Hillegass. He was a member of Chestnut Hill Church, Coopersburg. He was the owner and operator of H & S Service Center on Brookside Road, Macungie, for 19 years before retiring in 1994. Previously, he operated his service out of the location at Chestnut and Buckeye Roads in Emmaus from 1970 to 1975. Prior to owning his own business, he worked for the former High Quality Polishing and Plating. Bup was a former president of Mystic Chain Park Inc. of Ver Cruz, a lifetime member of the Knight of the Mystic Sea of Vera Cruz and the Mercantile Club of Emmaus, and a former member of the Lost in the 50s Car Club. He was active in Grundsow Lodge 13.

Survivors: Wife; children, Dean C. Hillegass and his wife Peggy, and Louisa S. Sult and her husband Jerome, all of Zionsville, Bruce D. Hillegass and his wife Kathryn of Macungie; grandchildren, Melissa, Nancy, Jacob, Ashley, Alyssa, Adam; brothers, Warren Hillegass, Norman Hillegass and his wife Betty; sisters, Eva Fischer, Louella Mindler.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Chestnut Hill Church, 6870 chestnut Hill church Rd., Coopersburg. Call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Interment, Chestnut Hill Union Cemetery.
