Wanda was married to Boyce Lee "Bill" Glenn for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 2001. Wanda was also preceded in death by all her siblings: Violet Jones, Louise Caruso, Zola Gibson, Gladys Pike, Arlie Alexander, Stanley Alexander, Marvin Alexander and Edward White.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Glenn of Gastonia; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Kris Glenn of Gastonia and Kenneth Lee Glenn and wife, Elaine of Bessemer City; grandson, Daniel Lee Glenn and wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Tyler Daniel Glenn, Makenzie Glenn and Savannah Leigh Glenn. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. A special niece also survives, Patsy Nations.
Wanda was a very talented woman who could do anything she set her mind to do. She made the best biscuits in the world! You were very lucky to receive a pair of her exquisitely embroidered pillow cases. An artist in her own right, she would see something that she thought was pretty and it would appear on canvas or if it was the holiday season, painted on a window or door. She loved bowling and playing on the Wii with the family. She will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with the Rev. Bill Mauney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one home prior to the service and at other times at the home of Ken Glenn. A graveside burial service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. They truly were wonderful in the past few days.
