Survivors include his wife, Frances Shoemaker; one son, Robert C. Shoemaker of St Joseph; one daughter, Ellen Nabs of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Nellie Means of St Joseph and Jean Barnes of Jackson, Ga.; his stepmother, Frances Shoemaker of St Joseph; a stepsister, Wilma Anderson of Brownwood, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
