George C. Shoemaker, 80, died early this morning at a St. Joseph hospital. He resided at 2828 Seneca street. He formerly owned Beaty Store No. 19 at 191 Parkway.
Mr. Shoemaker was born in Princeton and had lived in St. Joseph since 1900. He was a member of the Mitchell Park Christian Church and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Shoemaker, two daughter, Mrs. Nellie Means St. Joseph, and Mrs. Jean Barns, Jackson, Ga.; a son, Jess C. Shoemaker, Stockton, Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Wilma Jean Anderson, Lubbock, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Service arrangements are pending at the Heaton-Bowman mortuary.
