Helen Annette Abrams Chasteen, 78, of 104 Walker Road, wife of Reverend Ru­dolph H. Chasteen, died September 10, 2010.

Born in Laurens County, June 25, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Grace Truman Simmons Abrams. A graduate of North Greenville College and Lander College, Mrs. Chasteen received her Master's degree in edu­cation from Clemson University. She taught for thirty-two years throughout Anderson, Greenville, Oconee and Greenwood counties.

Mrs. Chasteen was a member of First Pres­byterian Church of Ware Shoals. Surviving in addi­tion to her husband are daughters, Cheryl (Bobby) Carlton, Re­nee (Pat) Cobb and Lynnette (Jerry) Hum­phrey; five grandchil­dren two great-grand­children; and a sister, Dorothy Mattison. Services will be Mon­day at 11AM from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3-5 PM. Those desiring may make memorials to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
