Martha Jenkins Terry, 79, of Town Creek, died June 17, 2005, at Shoals Hospital after a brief illness.
She was a native of Lawrence County, Ala., retired from the Lawrence County Board of Education and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Town Creek.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 19, at 2 p.m., with visitation beforehand at 1 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Tommy Akin and her grandson, the Rev. Timothy Murray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Welbo Terry, who died in 1969 and to whom she remained a faithful wife until her death.
She is survived by one son, Ricky Terry, of Town Creek; a daughter, Beth Murray and husband, Tim, of Town Creek; two grandchildren, Timothy Murray, of Carbon Hill, Ala., Jennifer Saint, of Town Creek; and her precious great-grandson, Gage Saint, of Town Creek. She also is survived by two sisters, Sybil Gibson, of Town Creek, and Marcella Turner, of Florence, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Greg McCormack, Jim McCormack, Jerome McCormack, Kerry Pate, Clifford Burnett and Lucas Cantrell.
