Dallas C. "Bub" Leatherman

Dallas C. "Bub" Leatherman, 70, of Goshen, died at his home Monday morning, November 20, 2006.
He was born October 14, 1936, in Goshen, to Dallas C. and Mildred (Gary) Leatherman, Sr. He married Sandra Kay White on January 29, 1955. She died November 4, 1979.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Leatherman, was a truck driver for LM Corporation, a subsidiary of Goshen Die Cutting, Goshen. He had also worked at Western Rubber for over 35 years.
A 1954 graduate of Goshen High School, he was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge. He was an avid bowler, golfer, a ranger at Black Squirrel Golf Course, and a longtime commissioner for the Goshen Fast Pitch softball league in Goshen. He had worked the Goshen High School football chain gang for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He had also worked the Goshen Relays for over 35 years and was Honorary Referee in 1999.
He is survived by his long time companion, Beth Jones of Elkhart; three sons, Dallas C. Leatherman, III, Columbia City, Indiana, Michael (Monica) Todd Leatherman of Goshen, and Dennis Eugene Leatherman of Peru, Indiana; six grandchildren; a sister, Carol Jean Dollar of Davenport, Iowa; and three brothers, Todd W. (Alice) Leatherman of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Gary A. (Sue) Leatherman of Odessa, Florida, and Jack A. (Sue) Leatherman of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Leatherman, and a sister, Doris Ann Lawrence.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2006 and one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
A 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 24, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Pettit of First Baptist Church, Elkhart, will officiate.
Burial in Oakridge Cemetery will be at a later date.
