Artist, Museum Director. He is the son of Charles Willson Peale. He was director of the Philadelphia Peale Museum from 1810 until 1821, then director of the Baltimore Peale Museum. He was director of the New York Museum of Natural History and Science from 1825 until 1843. His artistic works were created between 1855 and 1865, of which there are over one hundred and thirty.
