Renold Guy Aldrich, age 95, recent resident of Clarissa and formerly of Eagle Bend and Hewitt, passed away at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 14, 2006.

Services were held on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend with Reverend Cordell Strug and Reverend Mary Carol Strug presiding.

Renold Guy Aldrich was born on March 14, 1910 at Wrightstown, MN to Herbert and Margaret Aldrich. He operated a grocery store in Hewitt, MN from 1945-1977. He was united in marriage with Elsie Esterman in Minneapolis on September 2, 1936. After Elsie was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1973, Renold met Crystal (Johnson) Tell of Eagle Bend. They were married in Eagle Bend on March 6, 1976 and have enjoyed 30 years of marriage together. Renold resided in Hewitt for 32 years and Eagle Bend for 28 and was very active in the communities where he lived. He was a member of the Hewitt Commercial Club, Hewitt and Eagle Bend Lions, a volunteer firefighter, a senior volunteer as well as a Senior Citizens volunteer. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed participating in Church activities as well as Lapidary, bowling and playing cards, which he was a member of a number of card clubs.

Renold was preceded in death by his first wife Elsie on September 27, 1973; parents Herbert and Margaret; daughter Myrna Aldrich on May 22, 1938; bothers Paul, Kenneth, and Stanley; and sisters Myrtle Aldrich and Hazel Old.

He is survived by his second wife Crystal; sons Charles of New Orleans, LA, Thomas of The Villages, FL and Curtis Tell of Alexandria, MN; daughters Karilyn (Tell) Martinsen of Aitken, MN and Sharon (Tell) Line of Eagle Bend; 12 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren; and brother Lavern Aldrich of Wrightstown.

Pallbearers were grandsons Duane Line, Timothy Martinsen, Jason Line, Cory Tell, Jeremy Tell and Bradley Aldrich. Interment was in the Woodside Cemetery at Wrightstown, MN.
