Edna Nelson, 95 of Hollis died Thursday, Oct. 26 1989 at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Church of Christ in Hollis with Bob Garton and Jim Eckman officiating. Burial was in the Louis cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home.
Edna Dickerson was born March 24, 1894 at Arbery, Denton Co. Texas. The daughter of George Washington Dickerson and Leola Roberts Dickerson. She married L. G. (Dock) Nelson December 9. 1909 at Gould, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and had lived in Harmon county since 1906. She and her husband farmed in the LaCasa area. L. G. preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Church of Christ. She was an honorary LaCasa Alumni and a charter member of the LaCasa Demonstration Club.
Surbibors include: two sons Wayne Nelson of Oakly, Kansas and Earl Nelson of Duncan Oklahoma. Five daughters: Ola Rollins, Ruby Crabb, Margress Davidson and Earlene Stegalll all of Hollis and Dottie Prock of Altus; Three brothers: Zearl Dickerson of Illinois, Benny Dickerson of Colorado and George Dickerson of Dallas, Texas. Three sisters: Inez Neeley and Artie Mae Zeman both of Altus, Oklahoma and Janie Bell Drury of Olustee, Oklahoma.
