Inez Neely, 96, Altus, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Inez Dickerson was born January 8, 1920 to George W. and Leola (Robertson) Dickerson in Harmon County, Oklahoma.
She attended Lahoma High School located in Harmon County, south of Gould. Inez and Ray Neely were united in marriage on November 21, 1945. During their marriage they owned a cafe in Quanah, Texas as well as managed motels in Colorado and Virginia. They had also lived in Oklahoma City and retired in Altus.
Ray preceded her in death on January 5, 1991. Inez was baptized in 1942 and was a member of the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ. She was a homemaker her entire life and was known for her neat home as well as a great hostess to any guests in her home. She enjoyed working in her yard and usually did all the work herself.
Inez is preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters; eight brothers; and a niece, Alfa Mae Winsett. She leaves behind to cherish her memory several nieces and nephews to include , Linda Hughes, Eva Hughes, George Dickerson and his wife, Deanna.
Private graveside services were held Monday afternoon, September 19, 2016 at the Altus City Cemetery.
