MRS. TIMMONS BURIED HERE LAST TUESDAY

Hundreds Pay Homage to Former Resident of Edgar

Last Saturday afternoon, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Viva Cook Timmons passed away after several months of illness. Although the end was expected, she died very suddenly. Her children had been up from Wymore that day to see her, and she died about an hour after their departure for Wymore.

The remains were brought here to her girlhood home for burial in the Edgar cemetery, on Tuesday afternoon. The funeral procession went directly to the cemetery from the afternoon Burlington train, where a short service was conducted by Chas. A. Shook, pastor of the local Christian church.

Mrs. Timmons had been suffering for some time from cancer, and her father, Mr. C.E. Cook took her to Mayo Bros., some time last spring. She returned from there somewhat improved in health and it was thought for a time that she would recover. About two months ago, she and her father went to Lincoln, where she could have better medical treatment and it was in this Lincoln home that the end came. Mrs. Cook has been staying in Wymore for several months taking care of the family.

Mrs. Timmons was born and raised in Edgar and had a host of friends here who will sorely miss her. She was thirty-six years old, and had always lived a Christian life, having belonged to the Christian church here since young girlhood.

Besides her husband, Mr. C.O. Timmons, she leaves five children, Charles, Marion, Margaret Ann, Laura Elinor and Elizabeth, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Cook and her uncle, John Cook, and a host of friends and other relatives are left to mourn her passing.

Mrs. C.E. Cook returned to Wymore and will remain there indefinitely taking care of them.
