George Washington Corey was born September 7, 1814 in Hornellsville, Allegany Co., NY and died on September 21, 1907 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was the oldest of seven sons and five daughters born to Rufus and Martha McIntosh Corey. Rufus was son of Joseph and Prudence Parks Corey of Luzerne Co PA and Allegany Co NY.
Theora, married Jacob Becker born Germany, lived out her life in Cleveland OH. The sisters certainly proved to be one of the hardest families that I have traced down. It just goes to show that persistence does pay off.
Abt 1863 -1864 Steuben Co NY, Sarah married Simon L. McCain, son of Thomas L. and Rebecca Nevins McCain. Simon was born Steuben Co NY.
Sarah and Simon's children and numerous grandchildren, etc. have spread across Michigan from the northern peninsula, to the cities of automobile manufacturing.

Death certificate shows Sarrah Ann McCain was the daughter of George Corey (NY) and mother unknown. female, white, widowed, housewife, married at age 18, mother of 10 children, 8 living, born August 25, 1843 NY and died on July 15, 1909 Evart, Osceola Co., Michigan at the age of 66 years 10 months and 20 days, cause of death Paresis (?).

OBITUARY
Sarah Ann Corey was born in Pennsylvania Aug 23, 1842 and had departed this life, July 15, 1909. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her.
She was married to Simon L. McCain who died nineteen years ago this July, there being three daughters, five sons and one sister to mourn her death.
The funeral was held Sunday, at the home, Rev. McGarth officiating, and burial made in Lake cemetery.
Her children wish to thank the kind friends and neighbors for their help in caring for her, also the Woodman, L.O.T.M.M. and friends for the beautiful flowers.
