Gladys M. Rawlings

Gladys Margaret Rawlings, of Paradox died Monday at Family Health West in Fruita, She was 81.
Mrs. Rawlings was a homemaker and a rancher with her husband in the Paradox Valley.
She was born May 16,1905 to Eli Bert and Eva Augusta Fish Brown at Salida where she spent her childhood and attended schools.
She married Lloyd H. Rawlings, Nov. 21,1927, in Salida. They later lived in Grand Junction where Mr. Rawlings worked at The Rio Grand Railroad, They moved to their ranch on LaSal Creek in Paradox Valley in 1947. Mr. Rawlings survives.
Mrs. Rawlings was a student of the Bible and her other interest were hunting arrowheads, gardening and plants.
Other survivors include two sisters, Elberta Bennett, Wheatridge and June Surber, Salida; many nieces and nephews including Linda Snodgrass of Loma and George Bennett of Grand Junction.
Graveside services will be at 2p.m. Thursday in the Paradox Cemetery with Ron Steele and Kermet Redd officiation.
Arrangements were made by the Montrose Valley Funeral Home.
