May (Schoolnick) Palmer, 77, of 24 Caravelle Drive died Tuesday at home. She was born in Hartford, and lived in Sprngfield for 18 years before moving here in 1958. She worshipped at the Sinai Temple, and belonged to its Sisterhood, B'nai B'rith, and the Jewish Nursing Home of Western Massachusetts. She was also in the Women's Auxiliary of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists, and the Springfield Jewish Community Center. She leaves her husband, Dr. Milton L. Palmer; a son, Dr. Michael Palmer of Swampscott; two daughters, Donna L. Prince of Newton and Susan Palmer Terry of Concord, N.H.; three sisters, Beatrice Fisher of Springfield, Shirley Rabinowitz of Waterbury, Conn., and Robin Cutler of Torrance, Calif.; five grandsons. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon at Sinai Temple, with burial at City of Homes Cemetery in Springfield. Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel is in charge, and memorial contributions may go to Sinai Temple, 1100 Dickinson St., Springfield, 01108.
