Diane (Cagan) Silverman, 82, of 770 Converse St., and formerly of Springfield, died Saturday at home. She worked for the Springfield Department of Public Works. She had previously been employed at Berkline of New England and Hamden Color & Chemical in Springfield, and the former Skolar Paint and Wallpaper, and had worked for the U.S. Ordnance during World War II. Born and raised in Springfield, she lived there until 1998. Her husband, Louis Silverman, died last year. She leaves two sons, Steven A. Silpe of Springfield and Herbert of Sharon; a brother, Arthur Cagan of Springfield; a sister, Helen Siske of Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel, with burial in City of Homes Cemetery , both in Springfield. Memorial observance will be at the home of Robin and Carl Karolinski, 57 Merriweather Drive, Longmeadow, on Monday and Tuesday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Nursing Home, 770 Converse St., Longmeadow, MA 01106, or Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104
