Charles Monroe Gardner - born 6/29/1869 in Putnam Co., GA - died 9/21/1950 in Chattanooga Hamilton Co. Tn. - never married

Info from death certificate on TN. Death Records 1908 - 1959 from Ancestry.com and info from family members.  Charles is the brother of my grandfather, Emmett Rowl Gardner.  DC shows that their father was Monroe which is incorrect.

Chattanooga-Hamilton Bicentennial Library, database, www.lib.chattanooga.gov/obitnote.htm and wrote to Local History Dept., 1001 Broad Street, Chattanooga, 37402 also found one for Alma Gardner both appear to be related.

obit reads:

GARDNER, CHARLES M., 81, Died at home, 117 Sixth Street, early Thursday evening. He is survived by one brother (Joyce's note - this has to be brother in law) Robert M. Carraway, nieces, Mrs. Evelyn Card, Chattanooga, Mrs. Richard F. French, Coral Gables, FL (in Daddy's funeral book a Mrs. R.M. French signed the book), Mrs. Lawrence Corley, Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Fred March, Nampa, Idaho, Mrs. Carl Sitzler, Tacoma, Wash., one nephew, C. J. Freeman of Chicago; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephew
