Mrs. Johnston was born May 12, 1923 in Milo, Mo. to Earl and Josephine Canole. The family moved to Casper in 1924 where she was reared and educated.
In 1945, she married Derlin B. Johnston in Casper.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joanne Bray of Evansville, Mrs. Mary Pike of Powder River and Sandra Alexander of Superior, Mont; three sons, Gary Johnston of Mills, Billy and Ronnie Johnston, both of Powder River; one brother Wilbur Carpenter of Tacoma, Wash; one sister, Lois Ferris of Casper; 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977 and her parents.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
