LeRoy Abe was born on Nov. 4, 1942 in Caldwell, Idaho. He died March 17, 2010 in Denver, Colorado.

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.

LeRoy grew up in Caldwell, attending public schools through grade 12. He attended college at the University of Utah and the College of Idaho. He moved to Denver around 1964 to train at the Denver School of Judo. LeRoy was a relentless and honored competitor in the Colorado Judo and handball communities. His dependable sportsmanship helped to strengthen both groups. He also helped to build community within his family, cherishing the next generation. The Kids Table was the place to be at family reunions because Uncle LeRoy sat there.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Roy I. and Sakuko Abe, three brothers, Ivan C. Abe, James William Abe and Clifford Abe, one sister, Joyce Abe Lee. Surviving are two brothers, Dee E. Abe of Aiea, HI, Ray Abe Kawamoto of Quilcene, WA; one sister, Karen Abe of Bellevue, WA; and 9 nieces & nephews.
