LEWIS ADEN was the son of William Henry and Mary Ellen Rider Spayde of Bellville, Jefferson Township, Richland County, Ohio.

He was united in marriage with Miss Mable Jane Palm, she was the daughter of William Moore and Jane Elizabeth Fulton Palm, on November 25, 1903 in Morrow County, Ohio. Rev. Monk was the officiating clergyman.

Lewis and Mable were the parents of one son and five daughters-

Helen Dorothy Spayde Dill 1907 – 2000
Mildred Elizabeth Spayde Bollinger 1910 – 1948
Mary Louise Spayde Garber 1912 – 1996
Virginia Marie Spayde Maglott 1923 – 2010
Joan Spayde Swank 1925 –

In 1918 when Lewis registered for the WWI Draft he was described as- tall, slender, brown eyes and black hair, wife Mable, self-employed farmer and no disabilities were listed.

On December 2, 1953, Lewis and Mable Spayde celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a party of family and friends at their home in Bellville, Ohio.

Lewis, age 84, died on August 5, 1965 in Richland County, Ohio and was buried in the Bellville Cemetery beside his wife Mable.
