ALICE SHAW GETTING

Alice Shaw, daughter of Guy and Mary (Cherveny) Shaw, was born inClutier, Iowa on September 27, 1899. She attended school in Clutier and lived there until 1919 when she came to make her home with the late Mr. and Mrs A.D. Shaw (her uncle) at Archer, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Glen Getting of Sanborn, Iowa on September 4, 1922. After their marriage they lived around the Sanborn vicinity. Alice made her home in Sanborn until the time of her death at the Baum-Harmon Hospital at Primghar, Iowa on July 8, 1983 at the age of 83 years, nine months and 11 days.
She is survived by three children, Alvin of Caldwell, Idaho, Deltha (Mrs. Arlin Brandt) of Melvin, Iowa and Norman of Sioux Falls, S.D; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother Glenn Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents;two sisters; two brothers; ine daughter, Joyce,; one son, Marvin; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Rebekah Lodge of Sanborn.
