H. C. Tompkins
H. C. "Connie" Tompkins, 79, of 2835 70th St., West Des Moines, died of a heart attack Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be a 1 p.m. Tuesday at West Des Moines Christian church of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens cemetery.
Mr. Tompkins was born in Williamstown, MO., and lived in Ankeny for 45 years before moving to West Des Moines five years ago. He was retired construction superintendent for C. L. Carroll co., and was a member of Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Klein of Des Moines; two sons, H. Lennis of Cedar Falls and Ellis of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, Kenneth of Kansas City, MO, and Marvin of Quincy, Ill., a sister, Letha Plank of Huntsville, Ala.; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
