DIED - James Van Sickle, formerly of this city, died at the hospital in Clarinda on Friday evening, February 24, of consumption.
The remains were brought to this city and on Sunday afternoon were interred in the Chariton cemetery, brief funeral services conducted by Rev. W. V. Whitten being held at the grave.
James Fitch Van Sickle, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Van Sickle, was born in Syracuse, New York, May 30, 1852. In 1855 he moved with his parents to this city where he grew to manhood and for several years was engaged in the grocery business with his father.
A mother, two sisters, Mrs. Florence DeHerman and Mrs. Kate Gleason, remain and in their affliction have the sympathy of the entire community.
