Born December 19, 1916 in West Jordan to Henry Peter Jensen and Annie May Wright.
He was married to the love of his life, Helen Bowen, on February 4, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dell served in the Army in World War II and was in based Okinawa, Japan for twenty months and also Hawaii. Owned and operated (with Helen) the Jensen's Bakery. Dell retired from U & I Sugar in 1980.
Upon retirement, he and Helen toured forty-nine of the fifty states. They both worked and volunteered in the Sundowner chapter of the Good Sams Club, where Dell served as Wagon Master. He served his church in many capacities, including Scoutmaster, helping numerous young men earn their Eagle Award; also twenty years of temple sealings with Helen and three years without her.
He loved his yard and yard work to point of perfection and won the Midvale's Most Beautiful House Award. He enjoyed family trips to Hawaii and he loved his little cat, Sally. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his daughter, Delan Jensen; and son, George Jensen (Dona); grandchildren, Missy Crew (Jason), Carrie Bodell (Kenny), and Dustin Jensen; great-grandchildren, Maile, Analiese, and Boston, and one on the way.
We love you, miss you, and will always remember to take a cookie and one for the road.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Midvale Third Ward Chapel, 7825 South Olympus Street (220 West). Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), and Wednesday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: West Jordan City Cemetery.
