Pearl Jensen Reading, age 89, died April 24, 1991, in Torrance, California.
Born February 14, 1902 in West Jordan, Utah, to Henry Peter and Annie May Wright Jensen. Married Franklin Everett Reading, November 3, 1920; he died May 25, 1983. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Visiting teacher for 63 years. Active in civic affairs, serving as Judge of Elections. Wrote for the Midvale Ute Sentinel and Murray Eagle. Music was a very important part of her life.
Survived by daughters, Lylus Wahlen, husband Ralph, Richlland, Washington; Joyce Smith, Tempe, Arizona; Arlene Reading, Redondo Beach, California; Jean Clegg, husband David, West Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Arnold Jensen, Bakersfield, California; Rex Jensen, Olympia, Washington; Dell Jensen, Midvale.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., Murray 29th Ward, 6300 South 700 West. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Monday at the church, one hour prior to service. Interment West Jordan City Cemetery.
