In 1912, in the city of Boston, he married Ann Joy and started a family which would include five children, James(Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army), Jane(Sister Mary Jude, SSND), Alice, William and Pauline.
In the 1920's the family moved to the Fellsway section of Medford, their home for the next 40 years.Mr. Ronan eventually became a construction foreman. Upon his retirement, Mr. Ronan moved to the Medford Hillside. He died in April 10, 1964, father of a priest and a nun, grandfather of five.
