Charley was a farmer who moved to Delavan, IL, the same place his brothers Tom and Jim lived.

His first marriage was to Carrie L. Bensley, March 25,1908 in Cumberland Co, IL. They had sons; A.E.
B. Oct 10,1908. They had a second son born Feb 26, 1910. Carrie died in childbirth. After Carrie's death in 1910, Charles went to stay with his sister Alice Hoseney and her family in Howard Township, Valeda, Labette Co, KS.

His second marriage was to Sallie Ruth Hyatt. They married May 24, 1911 in Beaman, Pettis Count, MO. Ruth was living in Howard, Labette Co, KS in 1910 which is where she met Charles. They had three children; Charles Wayne, Agnes, Woodrow H. Rosecrans. Wayne and Woody were both Baptist Pastors. Ruth died in 1919 of tuberculosis.

His final marriage was to Clura M. Harrison. They did not have any children. Charles died of a cerebral hemorrhage (like his father) and hardening of the arteries. He was 66 years old.
