William Clark, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wildt, Tuesday morning about 1:00 o'clock was 94 years old. Mr. Clark had been a resident of Pulaski township, Jackson county, but was well known in Homer. He has been a member of the Masonic order longer than any other man in Michigan.
Mr. Clark was born in Lincolnshire, England, February 11, 1834 and came to America in 1852, settling the same year in Pulaski township, on a farm, where he has lived the most of his life, except the last few years, during which time he had lived with his children.
In 1856 in the fall, he became a member of Concord lodge No. 30, F. & A. M..
July 15, 1858 he was married to Matilda Billman and they lived on the farm until the death of Mrs. Clark in 1918.
Besides his daughter, at whose home he lived, he is survived by a son, John W. Clark of Concord and another daughter, Mrs. Delmar De Forest of Homer, 13 grand-children and 26 great-grand-children. Until recently Mr. Clark had been o[sic] good health, despite his advanced age. He was very active in a celebration held on his ninety-fourth birthday, February 11, of this year. The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wildt. Burial in the Fisher cemetery.
