Max Arrington, son of Pauline and John Arrington sent this correction to us. In the group photo of the children and spouses posted by Aundrea Carter Trott, granddaughter of Pierce Carter, the listing of John and Pauline Arrington should have been listed as Bill and Celia Hefner.

(since I did not post the picture, I cannot make any corrections on it.; so I have posted that here. Celia was Celia Pauline Carter Arrington Hefner. As children, we knew her as Pauline:) Billie Greene


Mrs. Henry Cebron Carter, age 63, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John Arrington of Meadowbrook Drive, on August 31, 1961, after an extended illness.

She was the former Mamie Lynch, of Orangeburg, SC, and daughter of the late Manuel W C Lynch and Julia (should have been Mary) Ann Judy Lynch. She was the widow of Henry Cebron Carter.

Mrs. Carter had lived in Augusta practically all her life, and in Sevierville, Tn. for 9 and a half years. She was a member of the Church of God, and was employed as a senior house mother at the Church of God Home for Children in Sevierville, until she became ill and retired.

Survivors include three sons; Ernest C. Carter, Wildwood, Fl., Henry L. Carter, Augusta; Pierce Hamilton Carter, Knoxville, Tn; a daughter, Mrs John Arrington, Augusta; Three sisters; Mrs Addie Darnell, and Mrs. Rachel Crook, both of Grovetown; and Mrs Gussie Gay, Augusta; 13 grandchildren, a grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at the Crawford Ave. Church of God, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.Elliott & Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be J E Faigler, J W Hathaway, George Cashwell, Lester Gilbert, Walter Templeton, and James Arrington. The Rev. W G Godwin officiating.
