Rachel was married 3 times, I was told by family. Nothing was known about her first husband. She second married a neighbor, who was a widower with two children. Later he ran off, and left her to raise his children. She next married a man, who last name was Crook. He was also a widower. They lived in the country, and lived in the back of a little store they ran. Rachel made all the candy sold in the store. Whenever we went to visit, she would take us kids into the front room, where their store was located, and let us each pick a piece of candy. When he died, she buried him next to his first wife. Somewhere in this time, she had a set of twin girls, who died at birth. She did not marry again, and had no more children. After the death of her 3rd husband, she went to Tennessee, to live, and work in a boys orphan home. She eventually came back to Georgia, and was living with her sister Addie when she died.
I don't have a picture but if I remember right, she looked a lot like her mother, Mary Ann.
