Viola C. Taylor, 87, of Gilliam, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at Concord Cemetery near Arrow Rock, with Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Dec. 19, 1921, in Osage County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Otto Ahrens and Mary Golden Phelps Ahrens. On Nov. 2, 1940, in Fairville, she married Edgar Huston Taylor, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater and a longtime Saline County resident.
She is survived by one daughter, Terry Ann Cobb of Gilliam; one son, Larry Taylor of Rochport; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Conley Ahrens of Marshall; and one sister, Gladys Rohlfing of Hallsville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Ahrens.
