Paul A. Ahrens, 90, of Marshall, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Nelson Weber and Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born February 10, 1917, in Osage County, he was the son of the late Carl Otto Ahrens and Golden Phelps Ahrens. In March of 1946, he married Alfreda Mae Wright, who preceded him in death in February of 1973. On April 24, 1976, he married Virginia Chasteen Fox, who survives. He had lived in Saline County since 1935, moving from Bland, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall. He was a farmer, worked for John Deere and Pioneer Mill and also worked for Banquet Foods.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Richie Ann Carson of Chillicothe; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Conley "Dutch" Ahrens of Marshall; two sisters, Gladys Rohlfing of Centralia and Viola Taylor of Gilliam; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson.
