Margaret Meredith was born to John Wheeler Meredith (1761 – 1844) and Elizabeth Busby (1766 – 1860) and at the age of 21, she married Archibald Dye in Miami County, Ohio. Nine children were born to this couple; the firstborn, daughter Eliza, died at about 6 months of age. Their youngest, son John E. Dye, served in the Civil War and lost his life at the age of 19: he died 1862 - his Find A Grave Memorial is # 71720986. Margaret's husband predeceased her by about 13 years.
