Jessie Batton, 77, of Glenrock, died Aug. 26, 1981 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas following a short illness. She was born March 5, 1904 near Vander, New Mexico, the daughter of Ge'hene and Louela Townsend McCartney. She was married to Frank Batton on Aug. 12, 1925 in Douglas. They moved to Glenrock in 1953. She is survived by a son, J. Frank Batton, Aberdene, Scotland; daughter Mrs. Merle (Mona) Dunham of Glenrock; daughter Mrs. Elva Wilson of Hawthorne, California; brother Albert McCartney, Roseburg, Oregon; sisters Minnie Batton, Roseburg; Flora Beaver, Portland and Bena Hixenbaugh, Albuquerque, New Mexico; in addition to eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
