CLEARFIELD – Eileen Davies Black Bright, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 in Ogden, Utah after a valiant fight with Parkinson's Disease.

She was born April 18, 1928 in her Grandmother Hamblin's home in Edgemont, Utah a daughter of William and Esther Davies. She grew up in Springfield, Utah in the home of her Uncle Lyman and Aunt Margaret Hamblin. She graduated from Altamont High School in 1946 where she enjoyed being a majorette.

On June 19, 1946 she married Walter Wade Black in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children. Walter preceded her in death on March 10, 1966.

Eileen was employed and retired from Hill Air Force Base where she met her sweetheart and friend Myrl Spackman Bright. They were married in April 1980 and currently enjoyed each other's love, sense of humor and family's.

Eileen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings including Ward and Stake positions.
She set an example of dedicated compassionate service through frequent visits, phone calls and gifts of love for friends and family who were experiencing trouble or challenges in their lives. She truly cared for others feelings and needs long before her own.
Eileen was an artist in the beautiful things she created, crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing and crafting. She especially enjoyed sharing her talents with everyone. She loved to read, camp, fish and hunt. Eileen loved genealogy and family history, telling stories and good jokes.

She is survived by her husband Myrl, her children: Phyllis Allen of Eagle Mountain; Phillip (Loralee) Black of Clearfield; Judy (Stan) Sargent of South Weber; Pam Bright of Dickinson, North Dakota; 14 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother, Lavar Davies and a sister, Geniel Reay.

Preceding Eileen in death are her parents; her husband, Walter; two sisters, Maggie Aaron, Addie Adams, and three brothers, Lyman Davies, Delbert Davies, John R. Davies.

The family would like to send our most heartfelt thanks to: Hearts for Home Health, Hearts for Hospice and Wasatch Care Center for the kindest and most sympathetic caregivers during a very critical time in our lives.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Thursday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at Larkin Sunset Gardens from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to services.
