John R. Davies, age 83, died on December 30, 2008 at his home.


He was born March 30, 1925 in Talmage to William and Esther Cecelia Hamblin Davies. He married Freda Beal on September 25, 1948 in Bridgeland and solemnized on February 23, 2008 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran World War II, US Navy.


Survived by wife, of Duchesne; children, Claudia Carey, Lehi; Pamela (Rex) Harrison, Orem; Serena (Brad) Taylor, Duchesne; Dwayne (Margaret) Davies, Duchesne; Ronald (Karin) Davies, Spanish Fork; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; brothers, LaVar (Lonni) Davies, St. George; Eileen (Myrl) Bright, Clearfield; and Geniel (Bill) Reay, Green River. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Maggie Aaron, Lyman Davies, Addie Adams, Delbert Davies.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Duchesne LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Chapel, 100 South 300 East, where friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the American Legion.
