The obituary for Clinton Erasmus Goddard stated he had died at his home in Mt. Carmel Tuesday morning. Death was indirectly due to injuries received several years earlier. Funeral services were held at Mt. Carmel and his body brought to Windsor. He was buried at the Brick church. Mr. Goddard formerly lived here and was favorably known. He left a wife and two children and would have been 37 years old in April. He was a son of Mrs. E. P. Putnam of Sand Creek. Windsor Gazette – 3 Jan 1895.
