He married Alice May Scott of Centralia in 1886 who survived him. He had worked in the railroad service several years and lately had been in the insurance and real estate business. Surviving also were his son, Homer A. Goddard of Chicago and a brother, Jasper Goddard of Rosebud, AR. Burial was in Sand Creek Cemetery, Windsor Twp., Windsor, IL.
