Obituary – Mrs. Cora Woods
Cora Emiline Downing was born Feb. 7, 1872 to Noah W. [ashington] and Margaret E[lizabeth Copple] Downing and died January 2, 1948 at the age of 75 years and 25 days.
At the age of 24 years she was married at Bedford, Iowa to David Woods. To them were born nine children, seven of whom are living: Mrs. Jessie Booher of Athelstan, Mrs. Mary Howard of Grant City, Mrs. Aletha Schuster of Maloy, Benjamin of Lenox, Thomas and Fred of St. Joseph, Floyd of Athelstan. There are also twenty-three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, five sisters and one brother.
The funeral services were held from the Community church in Athelstan, Sunday at 2:30 p. m. conducted by Rev. and Mrs. T. J. Overholt. Burial was in the Athelstan cemetery.
