Lonnie Edgar Daffin, 94, of Columbus, GA. died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at VistaCare Hospice at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at North Highland Assembly of God with Reverend T. Ray Rachels officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Daffin was born in Marianna, FL. on October 13, 1915 to the late Charlie Leo Daffin and Myrtle Sills Daffin. In 1946 Mr. Daffin entered into a business partnership with his brother-in-law, Talmadge Rachels. They operated Daffin & Rachels (D & R ) Supermarket until 1973 and maintained real estate investments to the present day completing a 64 year partnership. He was an active member of North Highland Assembly of God. Mr. Daffin was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lunette Lolley Daffin.
Survivors include his children, Eddie Daffin (Julia) of Columbus, Chris Daffin (Mary B) of Atlanta, GA, Julie Dickson (Donnie) of Fortson and Alan Daffin (Lyndee) of Columbus, grandchildren, Mark Daffin (Jessica) and Rebecca Dickson, great grandsons, Peyton Daffin and Seth Daffin, brother, Johnnie Daffin (Martha Jean) of Columbus, sisters, Elizabeth Pafford of Columbus, Murlee Mizell (Sammy) of Plant City, FL., brothers-in-law, Talmadge Rachels of Columbus and Jim Abercrombie of Huntsville, AL.
