Frank Fechtner Dies, Services Saturday -
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, for Frank L. Fechtner, life-long Palmer man. Mr. Fechtner passed away in his sleep early Wednesday morning, March 23, at his home here. He had been under medication for a heart condition for some time....
Frank L. Fechtner, son of Anna and Herman Fechtner, was born January 20, 1891 at Archer. He left this life at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 3 days.
At the age of two, he moved with his parents to a farm east of Palmer where he grew to manhood. He attended a rural school in Merrick county near their home.
On April 4, 1916 he was married to Minnie Glause at St. Libory, Nebraska. They settled on a farm east of Palmer where they lived until 1946 when they retired and moved into Palmer, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Mr. Fechtner was a member of the First Church of Christ where he served many years on the board and as a janitor.
He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Mrs. Viola Shinn of Chico, Calif; Miss Lucille Fechtner of Palmer, Mrs. Doris Beyersdorf of North Platte, and Mrs. Loris Dankert of Palmer; 2 sons, Harold of Arcadia, Calif., and Donald of Palmer; 2 sisters, Mrs. Martha DeKraker of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Ruth Merrick of Lincoln; 2 brothers, Will of Grand Island and Albean of Melvindale, Michigan; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
